The efficient scientific coordination of a large and international multidisciplinary project, such as NoPoor, is one of the keys to its success.
Scientific coordination is provided by the IRD coordination team (Xavier Oudin, Scientific Coordinator and Delia Visan, European Project Manager) and Work Packages (WP) leaders.
The main tool for scientific management is the Nopoor Management Platform with private access for all Nopoor members featuring as yet unpublished information on research programmes, task progress, meetings, etc.
The Consortium meets regularly. The Coordinator chairs the general meetings and heads the debates. The consortium comprises partners from different disciplines and cultures.
The partners’ scientific activities are coordinated so that they are complementary and conducted in keeping with the work plan:

NOPOOR Data Warehouse
The NOPOOR data warehouse covers existing relevant databases used in the project for all non-European countries concerned, as well as databases used and produced by the project. It also contains data that can be used for policy design, monitoring and evaluation.
Nopoor addressed the issue of poverty indicators based on surveys that take different approaches to the collection of household consumption information. There are two main approaches: one based on direct observation of household consumption and expenditure (over a certain number of weeks). The other is based on the retrospective collection of this information. The objective is to compare the two approaches and see if they produce comparable poverty indicators.
