Nopoor Conference in Chile - Employment, Poverty and Social Policies

20 April 2017 to 21 April 2017

NoPoor Conference in Chile - Employment, Poverty and Social Policies

Venue: Santa Clara 797, Ciudad Empresarial, Huechuraba, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universidad Diego Portales, Santiago de Chile

Aim of the conference: The development literature in recent years has recognized the importance of employment policies in the overall objective of reducing poverty levels. Moreover, employment and decent work have a central part in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted by the UN General Assembly in September 2015. They are subject of SDG 8 to “promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all”. However, very few policies in developing countries specifically focus on improving labour markets and employment conditions. This conference aim to provide a forum to discuss innovative theoretical and empirical research related to employment, poverty and social policy issues that have arisen from Nopoor project.

All interested researchers from Nopoor are invited to send a paper related to these topics.

Expected audience: Researchers from the Nopoor consortium, stakeholders from Chile, Peru and international organizations.

This conference is co-organised by UChile through the Universidad Diego Portales and GRADE
